This is the studio version of the epic track, Sequences, released on Remembrance Sunday, 11th November 2018, to commemorate the centenary of the ending of the First World War. The 23-minute piece, a favourite with fans and the climax of the band’s live shows, tells the story of a young man going off to fight in that war and coming back a changed man. The album consists of three versions of the band’s best loved track: an updated, expanded, and orchestrated vocal version, a complete instrumental mix (in a nod to its original form) and a brand-new piano interpretation of three key sections of the track. The musicians involved are Brian Devoil (drums), Andy Revell (guitar), Mark Spencer (vocals, keyboards, orchestration), Dean Baker (piano, keyboards) and Andy Faulkner (bass). There is also a special appearance by the song’s original lyricist and vocalist, the late Geoff Mann and, for one moment, a 200-strong choir comprised of various vocalist friends. Andy Revell: “We are proud of what we have achieved reinterpreting this piece that has occupied a central part of our repertoire throughout its existence, and we hope our fans will enjoy this, our first studio recording since 1994, as much as we have enjoyed making it. The CD comes with a 16-page booklet, which has a number of striking images perfectly illustrating the lyrics, and comprehensive sleeve notes detailing the development of the song, which was first performed some 40 years ago. A significant donation from every sale is made to The British Legion Poppy Appeal. Since the initial release of the album in 2018 over 3,000 has been donated.
