The last Helloween Studio Straight Out of Light (2013) was a significant timpani stroke that set the bar for this year's successor My God-Given Right. But even for their 30th anniversary, the group around string witches Markus Großkopf and Michael Weikath does not think of retirement. Right - after all, the men (including the at least brilliant singer Andi Deris) also deliver solid to large studio album number 15. Apart from the slightly flat "Hero-Zero" rhyme, "Heroes" succeeds a magnificent introduction that immediately draws into the album with jagged reefs and singing alarm. With the advancing 'Battle's Won' the listener awaits an educational piece in terms of speed and melody that nearly trumps the following track track. As an absolute highlight, however, the adventure hymn 'Lost In America' stands out as an absolute highlight, which invites you to head bang and chickle with groove and wonderfully tense melody arches. And even the album centre knows how to convince nuances of weaker: With 'The Swing Of A Fallen World' and the contemplative balladesque 'Like Everybody Else' helloweens succeed in throttling the initial pace and raising gloomy stomping strings - to push back on the tube with the loose-playful 'Creatures In Heaven'. The winking revelation 'If God Loves Rock 'n' Roll' (playing tip two), the melancholic smiling 'Living On The Edge' and the rough balling 'Claws' provide variety so that the German showcase metals hardly reward to the slightly long playtime. . Exuding artistic and quoting your own past is eventually as indulgent Helloween's heavenly right – with results like this, perhaps even her god damn duty.
